URGENT: Save Wincheap Water Meadows

Canterbury City Council plans to build an overflow car park for the Wincheap Park & Ride on the floodplain of the River Stour. Part of the site has already flooded. If the plan goes ahead, the risk of flooding will increase and there will be a hugely destructive impact on wildlife habitat and on the landscape of the Stour Valley.

But we still have the chance to stop this from happening. Here’s how you can help:

• The countryside charity CPRE Kent and the Save Wincheap Water Meadows campaign have initiated legal action to challenge the Council’s planning decision. We need to raise £5,000 by 6 January 2020 for the first stage of these legal proceedings.

Please donate to: www.crowdjustice.com/case/wincheap-water-meadows/

Please write to councillors (especially those outside Canterbury) to appeal to them to look for alternative locations for the car park. See link for their email addresses:

Please put up a Window Poster to show support for the campaign (call Pat to get one on 07708 239908).

· Join the campaign on Facebook and Twitter.
